Después de graduarse en guitarra clásica, se especializó con J. Bream, A. Carlevaro, J. Scofield y P. Metheny. Gana numerosos primeros premios en concursos internacionales, desarrollando siempre una gran actividad a nivel internacional, con importantes recitales en Europa y Sur América, tanto solo como en diversos grupos camerísticos (Duo Felicioni-Di Fulvio, Duo MauMan, Trio Saudade, Almaan Jazz Trio, Maurizio Di Fulvio Trio, Ensemble ‘900, Labirinto Armonico, Complesso Strumentale Italiano). Ha grabado extensivamente para radio y televisión, incluyendo piezas originales, transcripciones, sus composiciones, arreglos de música latina e improvisaciones. Ha estrenado piezas de numerosos compositores actuales, de entre los cuales cabe destacar a S. Bussotti, L. Berio y S. Sciarrino, obteniendo gran éxito entre el público y la crítica. Con Maurizio Di Fulvio tocan Claudio Marzolo al contrabajo y Marco Contento a la percusión. La combinación de tradición europea con influencias afro americanas y afro brasileñas son señas de identidad de este grupo. Maurizio Di Fulvio was born in Chieti and now lives in Pescara (Italy). Critics considered him one the most original and remarkable guitarists of our times. “…an eclectic wide-ranging musician, endowed with a hearty spontaneousness temper, skilled improvisator and refined arranger” … “he knows how to read and interpret different musical languages” …”his performances, sometimes gritty and energetic other times refined and ornate, always somewhere in between a respect for tradition and innovation”,…being kept up with an innate instrumental elegant. After taking a diploma in classical guitar, he specialized with J. Bream, A. Carlevaro, J. Scofield, P. Metheny; he won first prizes and gained several achievements in prestigious contest executing an intense activity at an international level, holding important concerts either in Europe and South-America, performing both as a solo player as well as with various group (Duo Felicioni-Di Fulvio, Duo MauMan, Trio Saudade, Almaan jazz Trio, Maurizio Di Fulvio Trio, Ensemble ‘900, Labirinto Armonico, Complesso Strumentale Italiano). He carried out recordings for several (television and radio) broadcasts and he also took place in lots of sessions, recording a repertoire including original strains, transcriptions, compositions of his own, jazz and latino-american arrangements and improvisations. He’s been credited with the attention of a lot composers of our time, who have often confided to him the review, the adaptation and the performance of their guitar works (among whom S. Bussotti, L. Berio, S. Sciarrino) and he also won high praise by the audience. With Maurizio Di Fulvio plays Claudio Marzolo on bass and Marco Contento on drums. The constant referring to the European learned music together with the attention paid to the afro-american and afro-brazilian musical civilization turn out to be crucial in the stylistic set up of the Maurizio Di Fulvio Trio. In the interpretation of the pieces proposed the Maurizio Di Fulvio Trio alternate moments of genuine extemporaneousness of the regular procedure, followed according to linguistic and expressive precepts belonging to jazz itself, to predominant moments in which the formal precision and the adoption of some processes are borrowed from the classical tradition. www.mauriziodifulvio.com |
