ANTOON VANDEBORGHT, es uno de los más destacados guitarristas en Bélgica. Galardonado en varios concursos internacionales, es un intérprete apasionante tanto en solo como en música de cámara. Oyentes y jurados de todo el mundo han valorado mucho su calidad interpretativa, su sensibilidad deslizada por las cuerdas, su maestría y sobre todo su capacidad de transmitir al público.

Antoon Vandeborght nació en Tienen (Bélgica), el 20 de abril de 1979 y comenzó a tocar la guitarra a los diez años. Bajo la orientación musical de Geert Claessens obtuvo la calificación final de matrícula de honor con 98% en la Escuela de Música de su ciudad.  Después realizó estudios de grado superior en el Conservatorio Real de Bruselas con Albert Sundermann y en el Lemmensinstituut (Lovaina) con Roland Broux y Raphaella Smits. En 2000 ya se había graduado en guitarra con matrícula de honor, pero siguió especializándose en la clase de Zoran Dukič en el Conservatorio Real de La Haya (Holanda).  Durante sus estudios, su desarrollo musical  fue marcado también por contactos con David Russell y Carlo Marchione, así como por su participación en lecciones magistrales con Leo Brouwer, Hopkinson Smith, Alex Garrobe, Alberto Ponce, Manuel Barrueco, Carlo Domeniconi,...

    Antoon Vandeborght ganó los siguientes primeros premios:
 

    Ha sido invitado a actuar como solista y a impartir lecciones magistrales en Bélgica, Holanda, Francia, Alemania, Italia, España, Eslovenia, México, Corea del Sur y Brazil.

    Además de sus ambiciones de solista Antoon Vandeborght da mucha importancia a la música de cámara. Desde 2001 es miembro fundador del Koa Guitar Quartet. Con este conjunto también se graduó con matrícula de honor en música de cámara en el Lemmensinstituut de Lovaina en 2002. En 2003 se le concedió a Koa el segundo premio en el Concurso de Música de Cámara del Rotary en Gante y Koa fue seleccionado por ‘Jong Talent’, una organización del Gobierno Flamenco.     Antoon le encanta interpretar la música, pero también compartir su conocimiento de la guitarra con otros. Desde 2001 es profesor de guitarra y de música de cámara en el Conservatorio de Música de Lovaina y en la Escuela de Música de Tienen.

Antoon Vandeborght was born on  April 20, 1979 in Tienen (Belgium) and started playing the guitar at the age of 10. Under the guidance of Geert Claessens he graduated with 98% of the points at the Music Academy of his native town. Later he went to study at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Albert Sundermann and at the Lemmensinstituut (Leuven) with Roland Broux and Raphaella Smits. Already in 2000 he took his guitar diploma with the highest distinction and he continued a post-graduate course with Zoran Dukic at the Royal Conservatory of Den Haag (Netherlands). During his studies his musical development was also marked by the contacts with David Russell and Carlo Marchione and the participation in master classes with Leo Brouwer, Hopkinson Smith, Alex Garrobe, Alberto Ponce, Manuel Barrueco, Carlo Domeniconi,…

Antoon Vandeborght has been awarded the first prize in  the following competitions:
 

He was invited to play concerts and to give master classes in Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Mexico, South Korea and Brazil.

Besides his soloist ambitions Antoon Vandeborght values chamber music a lot. Since 2001 he has been a founding member of the Koa Guitar Quartet. With this ensemble he took in 2002 the final diploma for chamber music with the highest distinction at the Lemmensinstituut. In 2003 Koa was awarded the second prize at the chamber music competition of the Rotary in Gent. They were also selected by ‘Jong Talent’, an organisation of the Flemish government. His love for performing extends to sharing the knowledge of music making with others. Since 2001 Antoon Vandeborght teaches guitar and chamber music at the Music Conservatory of Leuven and at the Music Academy of Tienen.
